Advertising & Posting Slots FAQ

How booking works, what to submit, approvals, changes, and what to expect from your scheduled post.

What am I buying when I book a posting slot?

You’re booking a scheduled promotional post that we publish on the York England social channel(s) you select, at (or close to) your chosen time.

Availability is live. Once a slot is purchased, it’s removed from the calendar.

Where will my post be published?

You choose your destination(s) during booking. Destinations typically include Instagram and Facebook on our York England pages.

If you select multiple destinations, we publish to each selected channel.

What do I need to provide?

You’ll be asked for:

  • Destination (where to post)
  • Caption (up to the character limit shown)
  • Imagery link(s) (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer etc, one link per line)
  • Notes (optional)

Please only submit content you own or have permission to use.

What makes a strong post?

Posts tend to perform best when the imagery is clear and high quality, the caption is easy to read on mobile, and the offer is obvious (if you have one).

If you’re promoting a venue or event, include the name, location, and a clear next step (for example, “book online” or “walk-ins welcome”).

Can you write or optimise my caption?

We may tidy formatting for clarity (spacing, emojis, basic readability).

If small changes could significantly improve performance or reduce risk (for example, unclear claims), we may email suggestions ahead of posting. If you don’t hear from us, we post exactly as supplied.

Do you offer Instagram collaboration invites?

Yes. If you enable an Instagram collaboration invite during booking and provide your Instagram handle, we’ll send a collaboration invite when we publish.

Please accept quickly for best results. Collaboration applies to Instagram only. If Facebook is selected, it will still be posted as normal.

Is my content reviewed or approved?

Some slots require approval. Where approval applies, we review submissions to confirm they’re suitable for a general audience and comply with our rules.

We reserve the right to decline content that doesn’t meet requirements.

Are there any content restrictions?

Yes. Content must be lawful, accurate, and suitable for a general audience.

We may decline anything that is misleading, offensive, adult, hateful, overly political, or otherwise inappropriate for our audience.

You must own or have permission to use all imagery, logos, and any other assets you supply.

Can I promote discounts, offers, or giveaways?

Yes, provided the wording is clear and truthful.

If you mention prices, discounts, or limited availability, you’re responsible for ensuring the details are correct and that any terms (dates, exclusions, booking requirements) are honoured.

What happens if my content is declined?

If your content is declined before posting, you’ll receive a full refund and the slot will be released back to availability.

Can I change my scheduled time after purchase?

It depends on availability and lead time.

If your booking includes flexibility, we may be able to move the post within the allowed window without needing to cancel. For major changes, email us as soon as possible and we’ll advise the best option.

What if I need to correct something I submitted?

Email us as soon as possible with your order number and the corrected text/links.

If we haven’t posted yet, we’ll do our best to update your submission. If it’s already live, changes may be limited.

Do you guarantee reach, clicks, or sales?

No. Social performance depends on factors outside our control (creative quality, offer strength, seasonality, platform algorithms, and audience behaviour).

We provide the booked placement, but results cannot be guaranteed.

Will you send performance stats?

Yes. We provide performance stats for every booking.

We’ll send your stats after posting (timing can vary by platform), so you can see how your post performed.

What kind of audience size do you reach?

Across our York England channels, we typically reach around 5–10 million people per month on average.

Individual post performance will vary, and we’ll share your specific post stats after it goes live.
