Posting Slot Rules and Terms
By purchasing a Scheduled Post Slot ("Slot"), you ("the Customer") agree to the rules below. These rules help protect both parties and keep all published content suitable for a general audience.
1. What you are buying
A Slot reserves a place in the posting schedule for the selected date, time, and tier.
You are purchasing scheduled publication time and placement on York-focused social pages. Unless expressly stated otherwise in these terms, you are not purchasing guaranteed likes, comments, shares, clicks, enquiries, sales, follower growth, or engagement of any kind.
We do, however, provide a minimum guarantee of 25,000 combined York-focused views within 3 days of publication. If we do not achieve that minimum within 3 days, you will be entitled to a full refund for that Slot.
Social media platforms are third-party services. Outages, delays, policy changes, algorithm changes, moderation actions, account restrictions, reduced distribution, or technical issues are outside our control.
2. Content submission
You must provide all required content and information through the booking form, including any selected destinations, caption content, links, uploads, and relevant notes.
You confirm that all information submitted is accurate, lawful, and complete, and that any links provided are safe, functional, and do not direct to malware, scams, misleading pages, or prohibited material.
If your submission is incomplete, unclear, poor quality, incorrectly formatted, or otherwise unsuitable for posting, we may request revisions before publication.
Where uploads are optional, you may still book without uploading files unless the listing or form states otherwise.
3. Approval and moderation
All submissions are subject to review for suitability, legality, platform compliance, and reputational risk.
We may approve, request edits, reschedule, or decline any submission at our sole discretion.
If we decline a submission before posting and cannot reasonably resolve the issue, we will issue a full refund and release the Slot back to availability.
Approval relates to suitability for publication only. It does not represent endorsement, recommendation, verification, or acceptance of any product, service, business, offer, or claim.
4. Prohibited content
The following are not permitted under any circumstances:
- Hate speech, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or content targeting protected characteristics
- Adult content, explicit sexual content, sexual services, pornographic material, or nudity intended to arouse
- Graphic violence, gore, or excessively disturbing content
- Content encouraging harm, self-harm, dangerous behaviour, or illegal activity
- Defamation, malicious allegations, “name and shame” posts, or harassment of individuals or businesses
- Misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent content, including impersonation, fake reviews, or false claims
- Political campaigning, extremist material, or content likely to inflame hatred or division
- Gambling promotion, get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid schemes, or similar
- Content that breaches applicable law, advertising rules, or platform policies
5. Restricted content
We may decline, edit, or require changes to content involving:
- Medical, health, wellness, or cosmetic claims
- Financial, investment, credit, or earnings claims
- Weight loss or sensitive body-related content
- Competitions, giveaways, or promotions requiring special legal wording or platform compliance
- Content aimed at, or likely to appeal directly to, children
- Profanity or language that may trigger complaints
- Sensitive, controversial, or complaint-prone topics
- Time-sensitive offers where the material is submitted too late for proper review
6. Claims, accuracy, and substantiation
You are solely responsible for all claims made in your caption, uploads, links, and creative assets.
If you make claims such as “best”, “number one”, “guaranteed”, “official”, “licensed”, “proven”, or similar, you must be able to substantiate them if asked.
We may require claims to be amended, softened, or removed in order to reduce legal, platform, or reputational risk.
7. Intellectual property and permissions
You must own, or hold all necessary rights, permissions, and licences for, every element you submit, including text, images, video, logos, music references, brand assets, and user-generated content.
If your content includes identifiable individuals, you confirm that you have all necessary permissions and releases where required.
You accept full responsibility for any copyright, trademark, privacy, or related rights dispute arising from your submission.
8. Privacy and personal data
Do not submit, request, or expect us to publish personal data such as private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, private correspondence, order details, or other confidential information.
We may remove, redact, edit, or refuse content that creates a privacy risk or could expose personal information.
9. Editing and formatting
We may make minor edits for grammar, clarity, formatting, spacing, length, platform fit, and general presentation.
We may also adjust hashtags, line breaks, emoji usage, and layout for readability and performance unless you specifically instruct otherwise.
We will not intentionally make material changes to the core meaning of your submission without contacting you where reasonably practical.
10. Scheduling and timing
All Slot times are scheduled in the stated timezone, normally Europe/London.
Posting times are best-effort, not guaranteed to the exact minute. By booking a Slot, you agree that we will aim to publish within 30 minutes of your booked time, and that exact publication at the precise minute selected is not guaranteed.
Delays or minor timing changes may happen for reasons including, but not limited to:
- platform outages, bugs, processing delays, or temporary restrictions
- moderation or compliance checks
- urgent operational issues
- overlapping publishing demands
- last-minute content problems, upload issues, or clarification requests
- internet, software, device, or account access issues
- events outside our reasonable control
If you choose a flexible option, you authorise us to move your post within the stated flexible window where reasonably necessary.
11. Destinations, add-ons, and platform features
Selected destinations, add-ons, and optional upgrades are fulfilled on a best-effort basis, subject to platform compatibility, account status, and the product settings in force at the time of booking.
Some add-ons may require extra information from you. If that information is not provided in time, we may proceed without that add-on, reschedule where practical, or contact you for clarification.
If an Instagram collaboration, video option, music selection, or similar feature is requested, fulfilment remains subject to platform support, eligibility, technical availability, and timely submission of suitable content.
Where a music option is offered, any track choice must be available within the platform’s own music library at the time of posting.
12. Customer delays and missed information
If we need clarification, missing files, corrected wording, or revised assets from you and you do not provide them in sufficient time, we may:
- delay publication
- move the booking to another suitable time
- cancel the booking
- refuse a refund where the issue was caused by your delay, omission, or unsuitable submission
13. Cancellations, refunds, and minimum view guarantee
If we decline your submission before posting and cannot resolve the issue, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel after purchase, a refund is not guaranteed because the Slot has been removed from availability.
We may, at our discretion, offer a reschedule instead of a refund.
Once a post has been published, the Slot is normally deemed fulfilled and is non-refundable, except where the minimum guarantee in clause 1 is not met.
If, after 3 days from publication, the post has not achieved at least 25,000 combined York-focused views, you will be entitled to a full refund for that Slot.
14. Removal after posting
We do not guarantee permanent visibility or continued availability of any published post.
Posts may later be removed, restricted, limited, or affected by platform moderation, policy enforcement, technical issues, complaints, account issues, or later suitability concerns.
If you ask us to remove a post after publication, we may do so if practical, but no refund will be due once the Slot has been fulfilled, except where the minimum guarantee in clause 1 applies.
If removal is required because you breached these rules, no refund will be due.
15. Customer conduct
Abusive, threatening, aggressive, or harassing behaviour towards us or our community is not permitted.
Attempts to pressure, mislead, or force approval of content that breaches these rules will be treated as a breach and may result in cancellation and refusal of future bookings.
16. Liability and indemnity
You are fully responsible for the content you submit and for any consequences arising from its publication.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your submission, including but not limited to intellectual property claims, defamation complaints, misleading advertising complaints, privacy complaints, regulatory issues, and platform actions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our maximum liability to you in connection with any Slot is limited to the amount paid by you for that Slot.
17. Contact and notices
Shopify checkout will collect your contact details for order updates and communication. You are responsible for ensuring your email address and any other contact details provided are accurate.
We may contact you using the details attached to your order if clarification, changes, or additional information are required.
18. General
We may update these rules from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase will apply to that booking.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer law where such rights cannot legally be excluded.
