Internet Usage Terms & Conditions

Important: Free WiFi/Internet may be provided at our accommodation via third-party broadband providers (for example Sky, TalkTalk, BT, Plusnet, Virgin Media and others, depending on the property). Please read the terms below. If you do not agree to any of these terms, please do not use the WiFi/Internet service during your stay.

1. Agreement

  • By accessing or using the WiFi/Internet service, you agree to be bound by these Internet Usage Terms & Conditions (the “Agreement”). If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Extent of the service

  • 2.1 The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose. You assume all responsibility and risk for use of the service.
  • 2.2 Save for the purposes of network administration, troubleshooting, security, and diagnostics, we do not routinely examine the content of what you send or receive using the service.
  • 2.3 We will try to make the service available, but it may be interrupted, limited, slowed, or curtailed due to maintenance, repairs, third-party provider issues, transmission limitations, or equipment failures.
  • 2.4 We reserve the right at any time to withdraw the service, change specifications or usage rules, limit access, or change access codes, usernames, passwords, or other security details required to use the service.

3. Your use of the service

  • 3.1 You must not use the service to access internet services or send/receive communications that:
  • 3.1.1 are defamatory, threatening, intimidating, or could be classed as harassment;
  • 3.1.2 contain obscene, profane, or abusive language or material;
  • 3.1.3 contain pornographic material (text, images, films, or video clips of a sexually explicit or arousing nature);
  • 3.1.4 contain offensive or derogatory material regarding sex, race, religion, colour, origin, age, disability, medical condition, or sexual orientation;
  • 3.1.5 infringe third-party rights (including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or confidentiality);
  • 3.1.6 in our reasonable opinion are unlawful, inappropriate, or may adversely affect the way we carry out our business.
  • 3.2 Music, video, images, text and other content on the internet may be protected by copyright. You should not download, copy, alter, share, email, upload, or otherwise use such content unless you are sure the rights-holder has authorised your use.
  • 3.3 We may terminate or temporarily suspend your access to the service if we reasonably believe you are in breach of this Agreement (including but not limited to clauses 2.1 to 2.4 and 3.1 to 3.2).
  • 3.4 We recommend that you do not use the service to transmit or receive confidential information. If you choose to do so, you do so at your own risk.
  • 3.5 The service is intended for normal guest/consumer use. Excessive usage (for example, activities that heavily impact the connection for others) may be restricted. If you intend to use the service for commercial purposes, see clause 5.2 below.

4. Child supervision

  • 4.1 We are concerned about the safety and privacy of users, particularly children. Parents/guardians who allow children to access the service should supervise such access and use. By allowing a child to use the service, you are allowing access to all internet content and communication services. It is your responsibility to determine what is appropriate, and to use caution when sharing personally identifiable information.

5. Criminal activity and cooperation with authorities

  • 5.1 You must not use the service to engage in any activity that constitutes or is capable of constituting a criminal offence, in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
  • 5.2 You agree and acknowledge that we may be required to provide reasonable assistance and information to law enforcement, governmental agencies, regulators, or other authorities where required by law.
  • 5.3 For security, network management, and compliance purposes, we may keep limited logs such as internet protocol (“IP”) addresses, device identifiers (where available), access times, and basic connection activity associated with that IP address.
  • 5.4 You agree we are entitled to cooperate with law enforcement authorities and rights-holders in investigating suspected illegal activity, which may include disclosure of information we hold where lawful to do so.

6. Our use of your information

  • 6.1 Subject to clauses 5.3 and 5.4, we use personal information in line with our Privacy Policy. Where you provide contact details to us, we may use them to communicate about your booking, your stay, and customer support. We may also contact you with marketing only where permitted and in line with your preferences.
  • 6.2 We aim to process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) and relevant electronic marketing rules (including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).

7. Other terms

  • 7.1 You agree to compensate us for any claims or legal action made or threatened against us by someone else because you used the service in breach of these terms (including clauses 3.1 to 3.3 and 5.1).
  • 7.2 Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any direct or indirect financial loss, loss of profit, revenue, time, anticipated savings, opportunity, data, business interruption, or any similar loss arising from use of (or inability to use) the service, or a failure, suspension, or withdrawal of the service.
  • 7.3 This Agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.

Privacy and data protection

We take privacy and confidentiality seriously. We collect: (a) information necessary to process bookings and provide our services; and (b) limited technical and usage information derived from cookies and similar technologies on our website, and from WiFi usage as described above.

We use this information to help improve our website and services, for internal administration, security, and where appropriate, marketing in line with your preferences. We do not share information with outside parties except where necessary to operate our services (for example, service providers) or where required by law.

Please note that data transmission over the internet is not completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over WiFi or the internet.
